Matteo Renoldi

Matteo Renoldi is a MA graduate in International Relations & Arabic from Durham University, England. By writing his Master’s dissertation on Dubai as smart city, he focused on the role of algorithmic governance and automatic decision making systems in urban environments. Throughout his time at Durham, he took part into the Cyber Champions project that aims to promoting digital literacy and online safety awareness in primary schools.

In the Hermes Center for Transparency and Digital Human Rights, he contributes to digital literacy initiatives that have the goal of fostering privacy awareness.

He also works on tracking.exposed, an European Research Council sponsored project, that aims to put a spotlight on users’ tracking, profiling, on the data market and on the influence of algorithms.

His main interests are algorithmic governance, recommender systems, and climate science.
